A connection authorizes QuantScope to retrieve data. What it can display depends on the brokerage, provider permissions, and the history available for that account.
Why can I see holdings but no return history?
Current balances and historical reporting can have different permissions. If history is unavailable and transactions cannot support a reliable reconstruction, QuantScope leaves the return unavailable and explains why. Reconnecting is not a guaranteed fix for a provider access restriction.
What do FETCHED, CACHED, and STALE mean?
FETCHED is when QuantScope retrieved a response. It is not necessarily when the brokerage last updated it. RECENT means the reported source timestamp is within 15 minutes; CACHED is up to 24 hours old; STALE is older. SOURCE TIME UNKNOWN means the response does not provide a usable timestamp. Refreshing QuantScope does not necessarily refresh the provider.
Why does cash appear negative?
A negative cash balance can reflect borrowing, unsettled activity, or other brokerage accounting. QuantScope preserves the value reported by the connection. For a single currency, account equity should reconcile with cash plus signed position values; buying power is a separate measure.
How are deposits and withdrawals handled?
Where sufficient transaction data exists, returns and profit calculations adjust for external cash flows. A deposit increases account value but is not investment profit. Incomplete transaction history can limit which periods are reliable.
What is gross asset allocation?
Gross allocation describes exposure using absolute position values. Short positions and negative cash make it different from a simple percentage of account equity. Always compare the metric label and currency before comparing values with a brokerage statement.
Why can chart periods differ?
Accounts can have different inception dates and available history. A selected period cannot create missing observations. Historical reconstruction uses available transactions and market prices and may differ from official brokerage statements.
Can every brokerage provide the same information?
No. Available accounts, asset types, currencies, refresh frequency, and historical coverage vary. A brokerage appearing in the connection list does not guarantee every QuantScope metric is available for every account.
How do I disconnect or delete my account?
Manage brokerage connections in Settings. Account deletion is in the Security section and requires your password plus an authenticator or recovery code. Deletion removes your QuantScope account and stored direct API credentials, closes the linked Stripe customer, and requests deletion of the linked SnapTrade user. It does not close your brokerage accounts. Revoke directly issued API keys with your brokerage when you no longer want them usable.
Still seeing a discrepancy?
Compare the same account, currency, metric, and timestamp. Then send a redacted example to quantscope.io@gmail.com. Your brokerage remains the source for official statements and trade confirmations.
